Susan Pettee lives in Paris, France and Great Barrington, Massachusetts. After graduating from Radcliffe College, she studied art at Boston Museum School and the Corcoran in Washington, D.C. and was a printmaker in the 1970s. After another career as an antitrust lawyer in Washington, D.C., she encountered botanical art at the Corcoran in 2000 and has not stopped since. She has taken short courses given by Anne-Marie Evans at the English Gardening School in London and received a Certificate in Botanical Painting from the Society of Botanical Artists in England in 2007. She has exhibited in New York, Washington, D.C., Portland, Oregon, Great Barrington, MA, and in Paris and Périgueux, France.
