Janet Parker has studied botanical illustration at the New York Botanical Garden since 2005 where she is currently pursuing an illustration certificate. She recently received her first professional commission - for the January 2008 issue of Horticulture magazine.

A 1989 graduate of Parsons School of Design, she works as an editorial art director and graphic designer for Workman Publishing. She lives in New York City with her husband and independent-minded Wheaten Terrier.
