Asuka Hishiki holds a Master of Fine Arts from Kyoto City University of Arts in Japan where she studied oil painting. While teaching art to children, she has also been working as a freelance illustrator for several years. She is a self-taught botanical artist. Painting plants and flowers is simply a pleasure for Asuka. She works mainly with watercolors -sometimes with color pencils- and the great details of her illustrations are based on her sharp observation.
When I pass by flowers, their beauty captures me and makes me want to draw it. I always get distracted and I can t walk straight because of flowers beckoning to me.
