Botanical artist  and  illustrator,  Brian A. Erickson, was born in 1966 and he has always shown an artistic inclination.  While in Ogden, Utah, he studied under Robert  A. Call and David W. Jackson for two years starting when he was 16.  Showing an eye for commercial art, he worked in advertising until he was 19.  He put his artistic interests aside and studied American Sign Language and French and is fluent in both languages.  After he turned 33 he decided to do what he really wanted to do and he refocused on his artistic talent and has been quite successful since.
