Jeannine Cook

Tanzanian by birth, European by heritage, British-American by nationality, Jeannine Cook is one of a small number of artists worldwide who specialize in silverpoint drawing. Her luminous watercolor paintings complement these shimmering drawings executed in silver. Cook increasingly uses her art to advocate on behalf of the environment. Whether it is landscapes, portraits of trees, botanical studies or still life, she works from nature, mostly in the field on coastal Georgia barrier islands near her home.

This frequently serves as a platform for advocacy in partnership with such organizations as The Nature Conservancy, The Sierra Club or governmental bodies who are stewards of different sites. These exhibitions travel to museums and galleries throughout the Southeast United States. Jeannine Cook's work is in many public and private collections in the United States and Europe. Collectors include Dr. Shirley Sherwood, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.
